The 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate Edition is a traditional American full-size luxury sedan known for its spacious six-passenger cabin, smooth ride, and durable body-on-frame construction. Built on Ford's Panther platform, shared with the Lincoln Town Car and Ford Crown Victoria, the Grand Marquis represents one of the last American sedans to retain a conventional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout with a separate chassis. Its generous interior dimensions, front bench seating, and 20.6-cubic-foot trunk provide substantial passenger and luggage capacity, while its suspension tuning emphasizes comfort and isolation from road imperfections.
Power is supplied by a 4.6-liter SOHC 16-valve Modular V8 engine producing 224 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The V8 features electronic fuel injection and flex-fuel capability, allowing operation on gasoline or E85 ethanol fuel. Additional mechanical features include power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and traction control.
The LS Ultimate Edition represents the well-equipped version of the Grand Marquis, offering leather upholstery, six-passenger seating, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry. Its traditional column-mounted gear selector and front bench seating provide room for three occupants in the front row, while the wide rear bench accommodates three additional passengers.
