This 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring PRHT is the top-tier, luxury-oriented version of the third-generation NC Miata, uniquely equipped with a Power Retractable Hardtop (PRHT). It balances the Miata's signature lightweight, rear-wheel-drive handling with everyday weather isolation, security, and premium creature comforts.

The defining feature of this model is its three-piece solid roof mechanism. Unlike most retractable hardtops, Mazda designed the roof to fold completely behind the seats into a dedicated well, preserving the exact same 5.3 cubic feet of trunk space whether the top is up or down. The hardtop assembly adds only ~75 to 80 pounds over the standard cloth top, keeping the vehicle's total curb weight low—roughly 2,560 to 2,602 lbs depending on the transmission—preserving near-perfect front-to-rear balance.

As the top-of-the-line trim for 2008, the Grand Touring features a standard 200-watt, 7-speaker Bose sound system featuring AudioPilot dynamic noise compensation, HID headlights, heated leather-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, keyless entry, power windows, locks, mirrors, and cruise control.

Power is delivered by a 2.0-liter MZR inline-4 producing 170 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque, and sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
