The 2009 Nissan Rogue SL AWD is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV developed to combine the maneuverability and driving characteristics of a passenger car with the elevated seating position, cargo versatility, and all-weather capability of an SUV. Introduced as Nissan's entry into the growing compact crossover segment, the Rogue features a unibody platform, four-wheel independent suspension, and a rear liftgate with a versatile cargo compartment.

Power is supplied by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine producing 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, paired with Nissan's Xtronic continuously variable transmission. The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system automatically distributes engine torque between the front and rear wheels according to driving conditions to help maintain traction. The chassis incorporates independent strut front suspension, an independent multilink rear suspension, electric power-assisted steering, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and Vehicle Dynamic Control.

This example is equipped with the Premium Package and Leather Package, featuring leather-appointed seating, a power sunroof, Nissan Intelligent Key, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, and a premium seven-speaker Bose audio system with an Nd Richbass subwoofer and in-dash six-disc CD changer.
