The 2010 Lincoln MKX is a midsize luxury crossover SUV based on the same platform as the contemporary Ford Edge. It emphasizes a smooth, quiet ride, comfortable seating, and standard luxury amenities.

Standard equipment includes leather seating, SYNC hands-free phone system, heated and cooled front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and genuine wood accents. Features added by the Ultimate and Elite packages include a panoramic sunroof, voice-activated GPS navigation, and a 600-watt 14-speaker THX Surround Sound audio system.

The Midnight Limited Edition package is a special cosmetic package for the MKX featuring Tuxedo Black Metallic paint, a matching body-colored grille, unique 22-inch polished alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, adaptive swivel projector-beam headlamps with etched Lincoln Star logos inside the lenses, and an all-black interior.

Power is derived from a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 266 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, and routed to the front wheels by a 6-speed automatic transmission. The MKX earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the model-year.
